Sadie had an early morning game & then we headed straight to Sophie's game which was mid morning at a different field. We lucked out & they only have 1 conflicting game time the entire season but both of them play at different fields every week. Sophie was so excited for her first soccer game so we had to take a few pictures before:
Didn't their uniforms turn out cute? I went to the coach's meeting for Bryan & was hoping to get white or black as their team uniform so we could do a fun color with it. Of course the girls wanted pink! Since we knew about half of her team, we all voted on names & came up with a couple of cute ones but by the time we submitted them they were already taken so we finally agreed on Twinkle Toes. Which I think is totally appropriate for 3 year old girls :) Then I had to find team socks & I saw the stars & thought it made sense because Sophie kept singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. We even lucked out & had a mom on our team design their logo & add it to the jerseys. Who knew being a team mom had so much work to do?!
The girls were so excited to be there & they did great! Not a single one cried or ran off the field. They all sat on the team bench together & took turns playing:
Sophie did a great job hustling & was not afraid of going after the ball. The biggest difference I saw between her & Sadie is speed. Sadie is always the fastest one on the field. Sophie is definitely running at her own pace & I think most of the game she was looking at me waving & smiling saying "Hi Mommy!" It was pretty adorable:
They lost their first game but they looked cute & had fun! And we were also proud of their coach:
Bryan is one of the assistant coaches for Sadie's team but he is the head coach for Sophie's team. I think he did great, especially considering he has never even played soccer before! I think it's going to be a fun season for Sophie as well!
