I can't believe I forgot to post this picture last week but I found it on my phone dump this week:
Not a spectacular picture by any means, but we were celebrating - our oldest are all in kindergarten & our youngest all started pre-school that morning! So we finally have 2 days a week to ourselves again :)
Speaking of pre-school, going 2 days a week must have exhausted Sophie with all of her other activities because I couldn't find her one afternoon & she had crashed in Sadie's bed:
Last Friday night we went to a ground breaking reception for a new development in town & had a fun date night with Justin & Krystal:
It was the perfect evening! The weather was cooling off & it felt perfect outside. Check out this picture. You can't really see us, but the sunset was beautiful & it almost looks like we are visiting somewhere else & not in Frisco:
On Monday morning, Sophie started fall swimming lessons with KJ again:
You know the past 2 years she has always been timid in the water but I am telling you, something clicked this summer & she rocked swimming lessons! The teacher was blown away by her confidence & ability. I was so proud of her!
Sadie will no longer take swimming lessons now that she is in school full time, plus she doesn't really need them anymore because she is fantastic in the water. I'm afraid if Sophie goes all fall/winter/spring without swimming, she would regress, so we are going to keep her in the water once a week until next spring.
Sadie was so excited when we got home from school earlier this week because someone surprised us & put a sign in our front yard:
And our neighbor Hadley was home that afternoon so the girls had fun playing outside:
I realize this picture doesn't look significant but I took it because it was a first for me:
We have been at Sonshine for 5 years & this is the first year I have been able to participate in carlane!
I was pretty excited but after doing it, now I miss walking in & seeing all of our friends. It was like social hour in the afternoons.
This week Sadie's school is having college & career week. On Monday, it was "hats off to embracing challenges & embracing grit" so she wore one of her longhorn hats. I didn't get a picture but the kids looked so cute walking out of school that afternoon with all of their hats on!
On Tuesday, it was "my future is so bright that I have to wear shades" & her teacher sent us a picture of her class at recess:
On Wednesday, they were asked to wear their favorite college tee shirt & her teacher got a picture of Sadie & Addie in their matching shirts:
Both of their dads went to UT!
On Thursday they were asked to dress for success. I have always asked Sadie what she wants to be & for the past year she has always told me a babysitter, a soccer player & a cheerleader! Ha! Talk about career aspirations! Finally on Friday, they said their college future starts right here so they were asked to wear their favorite Pink Elementary spirit shirt. But Bryan & I are headed out of town for a long weekend so hopefully I will get pictures from her teacher or the grandparents. Until next week!
