As I've mentioned before, Frisco currently has 9 high schools but the one that our girls feed into is Wakeland High School. That is the school we usually cheer for & where most of our babysitters go so when I found out that Sadie was old enough to attend their cheerleading clinic, I immediately signed her up & invited some of her friends:
She has been to a lot of football games but the cheerleaders are always her favorite part! Most of the girls that went play on her soccer team so it was definitely fun seeing them in a different atmosphere:
We dropped them off before 9:00 & then got to pick them up a few hours later. They were the youngest cheerleaders there because it started with pre-school & went through 5th grade so they were kind of shy when we left since there were so many big girls there. Luckily they had each other & Sadie saw several older girls she knew from the neighborhood. We got there a little early to pick them up so we could watch their performance. Of course their age went first since they were the youngest:
This was the pre-k group with their teachers. They walked in chanting "We are (clap, clap) pre-k!" & Sadie helped lead the pack:
They were all kind of shy & it was too cute! Afterwards they went to sit on the side while every age group performed. Once everyone had finished, they brought everyone together & showed off a couple of group cheers & dances:
Can anyone spot Sadie? She is in the middle! At this point, 2 of her friends are dancing like crazy & having a great time but her, Kenzie & Tatum looked like a deer in headlights! I kept joking that maybe they are our tom-boys & need to stick to soccer :)
Afterwards we got to pick them up & take pictures:
Even Sophie wanted her picture taken:
Apparently they had a lot of fun even if they got stage fright at their performance because all I have heard all week is "Wakeland (clap, clap) Wolverines!). Guess we'll see how they do Friday night when they get to cheer at the football game:
