I haven't really written about Sophie lately, so I thought I would give an update. She has been cruising for a couple of months now - literally. She will push her stroller or the shopping cart all over the house. She walks holding on to furniture & the walls. She would take up to 5 steps & go between things or walk to someone, but she would not go any farther than that. No matter how hard we tried to bribe her! I was kind of getting frustrated because she was 16 months old & still would not walk. Sadie started walking right after she turned 1, so she was practically running by now. Sophie is just lazy & would rather crawl because it was faster. I know physically she could do it, but she had to decide mentally she could & she finally did last weekend! While my parents were here she finally started getting more courageous & is finally walking by herself most of the time. Occasionally she will fall or lose her balance because she is still a little wobbly, but for the most part, she is finally walking on her own. 16 1/2 months later!
I don't really have pictures of her walking, but I have taken some pictures of her doing some other crazy things lately. She has come unto a new phase where she likes to throw everything out of her crib. There's not much in there, but a few stuffed animals & pacifiers & she thinks it is hilarious to throw everything out within minutes of putting her in there:
Unfortunately, we are not into playing this game with her, so she has to cry every night until she falls asleep with out anything, otherwise we would be going in there all night picking everything up from her. I have a feeling we might just be throwing away the pacifier sometime soon because she hasn't even been sleeping with it since she throws it out.
I also noticed something strange the other morning when I went to get her up for the day:
Somehow she learned how to take her shirt off & she threw that overboard too :)
Not only is she walking now, but she is also starting to climb, more than Sadie ever did. The other day I was cleaning in her room & I couldn't find her until I heard her in Sadie's bathroom:
She had climbed up Sadie's stool, grabbed her toothbrush & was brushing her teeth over the sink!
I guess the good news is she thinks brushing is as fun as Sadie does! Guess we have trained our children the right way :)
Don't know what I am going to do with this girl. It is clear that her little personality is so much different than Sadie's & she keeps me on my toes every single day!
