It's hard to imagine that our youngest is already six months old. In some ways it seems like she has always been a part of our family because she is just a part of our every day routine now, but in other ways, I am just blown away thinking about how old she is already. This little girl is full of personality, has the best smile & cutest little chuckle ever. I am so lucky to get to spend every day with her!
This is Sophie on the way to her 6th month check up. Everything went well but she did have a few shots. Bryan was our photographer that day while I tried to calm Sophie down in between needles & measurements:
And of course we got her stats:
Weight: 15.54 lbs., 41.43%
Length: 26.5", 78.99%
I went back to an earlier blog to see how big Sadie was at this point, so here are her stats in case you are curious:
Weight: 15.8 lbs., 44%
Height: 25.5 in., 32%
Obviously they are a little smaller than average on weight, but Sophie is a lot longer! I have a feeling she will be taller because I can already tell in the way Sadie's clothes fit her :)
Speaking of clothes, she is wearing 3-6 months & all of it fits her (especially shorts, shirts, dresses, etc.) except pants tend to be a little short, so they look like capri pants instead. She is also wearing a size 2 diaper, but I just started putting her in a size 3 diaper at night because she was peeing through the size 2. I guess that's what happen when you sleep 12 hours a night!
Yes, that's right. She is sleeping about 12 hours a night. For the longest time we thought she would never sleep more than 11 hours, but once we started feeding her cereal, she started sleeping longer. It's amazing because I was feeding her cereal at lunch time & she was really only getting a few bites, not a whole lot, but all of the sudden she is sleeping longer at night. I guess her tummy is more full!
And since I mentioned cereal, I should let you know that she is over that. She really liked it the first day & I continued to feed it to her for a week & I felt like every day she showed less interest in it. That is exactly how Sadie was - it must not be that good. So, we finally started the good stuff this week. We gave her sweet potatoes & she thought they were the best thing ever! She has eaten them 3 times now & I think she likes them better every time :)
Developmentally we are still working on sitting. I honestly thought she would be a confident sitter by now because she has been close for a while, but sometimes she sits well & can balance herself easily & other times she can't. When I went back & looked at Sadie's 6 month doctor appointment, she was sitting on the table by herself, so I guess Sophie is a little farther behind in that area. But I also noticed that Sadie was holding her own bottle in some of the pictures & Sophie has been doing that for a while now. Not only holding it, she is man handling it! She loves her bottle :)
She still loves playing & we rotate her from the swing, bumbo chair & exersaucer. And you've probably seen in earlier posts that she loves riding in the swing at the park now as well as going for rides in the jogging stroller with her sister. Her dad really wants to take her on a bike ride but I don't know if she is ready for that yet! She plays hard but it doesn't take much to tucker her out:
We love this little girl & are so grateful to have her in our family!
