Mix Tape

Our neighborhood had a summer kick off party last weekend & we had a blast! There is a band called "Mix Tape" & a couple of the members live in our neighborhood. They only play cover songs but they have an awesome song selection! The concert was at our community pool so everyone brought their wagons, lawn chairs, blankets & we danced all night while the kids ran around & played. Several of our neighbors were there so that made it even more fun. But my favorite part of the night might have been the snow cones! You know I love a good snow cone, especially on a hot day. Apparently, my daughter does too:

 

 

Along with the singing & dancing, we spent some time at the park:

Of course this is how it started. She was really jealous because a lot of people were actually in the pool swimming, but it was mostly older kids & adults. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture or actually see what happened next, but apparently she decided to jump in & swim when she saw our neighbors Alexa & Nicole! They brought her over to me & she was soaking wet :) That didn't stop us from enjoying the rest of the night. We went back to the main stage to enjoy another snow cone:

She was trying to break dance like the other kids when she got a little out of control & forgot she was still holding her treat :( Since it was 9:00 already, we thought this would be a good time to head home so we packed it up & started walking back to the house with another family. One thing lead to another & we were still outside letting the kids run around & play in front of our houses at 10:30 that night. We finally got the girls inside & in to bed by 11:00 that night. Talk about a crazy night! But I guess it was the kick off to summer & we couldn't have celebrated in a better way :)
