After swimming lessons, we headed to Bryan's grandmother's house for a Memorial Day lunch. His dad actually cooked ribs & she made everything else. It was definitely a typical, southern, holiday meal & we ate it up. Including the left over potato salad that I brought home with me :)
I took this picture as we were walking up to her front door:
This is another one of those memories that I don't want to forget. Sadie realized about a week ago that she has a baby & a car seat, so why is she leaving it at home? She has since taken it with her everywhere we go. Usually we leave both of them in the car (her baby car seat sits in between her & Sophie's car seats) but since we were going to be spending the afternoon at his grandmother's house, we let her bring it in to play.
And speaking of playing, that's exactly what this little girl did:
She was in the best mood on Monday afternoon & loved all of the extra attention!
The girls also got to play with Kenzli since she was there also. This is Bryan's cousin's daughter. Got that?
For some reason, Sadie was hamming it up & was enjoying the photo session with her sister. Wish that would happen more often!
She may not seem happy in the picture, but Sophie was loving the attention from her sister. She always smiles when she sees her! On a side note, this next picture shows how good she is sitting these days. She is not even 5 1/2 months & technically she can almost sit by herself unassisted. Every now & then she can, but sometimes she still falls over. I am pretty sure she will be doing it all on her own by 6 months:
Thanks for inviting us over Granny! The food was delicious & we enjoyed a lazy holiday afternoon hanging out with family.
By the way, on the way home, this happened:
And that never happens! We didn't eat lunch until 2:00 & since we were hanging out with family, we didn't make her take a nap, but apparently swimming, eating & playing wore her out. I think I can count on one hand the number of times this has actually happened :)
