Frisco Roughriders

One of the things that we like about Frisco is the sports entertainment that the city provides. Along with the Dallas Stars, Texas Legends, FC Dallas, we also have the Frisco Roughriders, which is a minor league baseball team. Bryan & I have been to games before, but we hadn't taken Sadie yet & we figured she was finally old enough to sit through a baseball game. I personally wanted to go to a game before it got too hot this summer, so we went on Friday night & it was the perfect way to kick off Memorial Day weekend & our start to summer!

 

I guess the love for sports runs in our family because she loved it! She did better than either of us expected :)

 

 

The minor league games are much more fun than the professional games because they are at a smaller venue & they provide plenty of family friendly entertainment. She was clapping & dancing the entire night! She hardly sat down because she was so excited, but she stayed right in our seats - not once did she get bored or try to sneak off. Of course we sampled a lot of good food, so that probably helped :)

 

 

I tried something new called barbecue nachos & they were delicious! I can't believe I have never had those before - I think I will start making those at home! Bryan got to have one of his favorites:

 

 

He had the traditional funnel cake while I had a brownie sundae. Sadie got to sample a little bit of everything because she went back & forth between us getting bites of both!

One of my favorite parts of the night was the common phrase that I heard probably 100 times that night (& no, I am not exaggerating!) "Where'd Daisy Go?" The team has 2 mascots - Daisy & Deuce & Sadie was obsessed with Daisy! Probably because she had a tutu on & a big bow in her hair. Or she just likes her name, since that's our dog's name. They would run out on the field & play games in between innings, but they would go back in to the dug out while the game was going. I think she might have enjoyed Daisy more than the game itself, but either way, we had a super fun night & I am sure we will be going to many more baseball games in the future.

 

 

In case you are wondering where Sophie is, we left her at home with a babysitter. We knew we would stay out later & we wanted to make it a special date night with just Sadie. I think she enjoyed the extra attention & since she had so much fun, we didn't even leave the game until 10:00 that night! Maybe next time we'll stay late enough to watch the fireworks afterward.
