9 Months

Sadie turned 9 months old this past weekend & she went to the doctor for her check up yesterday. I was really excited to go to the doctor because we hadn't been in 3 months! Plus, they said this was more of a developmental check up & there wouldn't be any vaccinations. The good news is that she is developmentally ahead of the game. She is crawling, pulling up, waving - basically never sitting still. She is trying hard to stand on her own & loves to walk - I really think we will have an early walker!

The only bad news is that she is anemic. Basically she isn't getting enough iron. The good news is that is not anything major & apparently is common in babies her age since she isn't getting enough nutrients from food yet. So we have a medicine that she will take daily & then check her levels again in 6 weeks.

The other bad news is that they tricked us & she did get a shot after all :( It wasn't mandatory, but we chose for her to get the flu shot. She was not happy about that! Luckily I got a picture of her before the finger prick & shot in the thigh......

And the good news is that she is finally starting to grow & her height has caught up with her weight.

Weight: 18.0 lbs., 47.53%
Height: 27.5", 44.14%

Unfortunately, they said her head is only in the 8th percentile & not growing very much. Well I could have told them that since we have been going to Cranial Technologies every week for the past 10 weeks to have her Doc-Band re-fitted. If only her head would catch up with the rest of her body, maybe we could have her helmet taken off.....
