Sadie & I had our first really bad eating experience this week & I have the pictures to prove it:
Does it look I am torturing her or what? She has always been a good eater & has pretty much eaten everything I have given her, until this. She has been eating baby food for over 2 months, so I finally moved her up to the stage 3 baby foods & apparently she was not ready for it. She is handling the yogurt, fruits & vegetables just fine, but it's the dinners in a jar that have thrown her for a loop. Apparently she only likes liquid food - it can be a little chunky, but she doesn't want actual chunks of food inside it. We tried herbed chicken & pasta the other night & that's when we had our meltdown. The first few bites were just the sauce & she loved it, but then came a bite with a chunk of pasta in it - I have never seen her act like that. She started hitting my hand away when I tried to feed her, she spit the food out everywhere, got it all over her hands which in turn got on her helmet & she had cried harder than I have ever seen her! It was horrible! Poor Dad was traveling for business this week & didn't get to experience it - that's why I took pictures!
Has anyone ever had a similar experience? I have also been giving her Cheerios, Yogurt Melts & Puffs for the past 2 weeks & she won't eat those either. She loves to play with them but spits them out & pretends like she is choking every time. I keep hoping that if I keep trying, eventually she will learn how to eat substantial food, not just liquid, but so far it has been a rough go!
