Water Babies

Yesterday afternoon, Sadie met her friends Tatum & Byron at swim lessons. Actually, they had a free orientation class for their water babies program to see if this is something they would be interested in. I guess that was a silly question because those babies were giggling the whole time in the water!

We spent a lot of time in a circle, singing songs, splashing the water & swishing them side to side. They basically take any nursery song you can think of & change the words for swimming purposes.

They also had stations where they played with water rings, poured water from the watering can, floated on ducks, etc.

They also learned how to float on their backs, which was pretty impressive. Unfortunately, we didn't get a picture of her doing that. But she also learned how to hold on to the side of the pool by herself:

As you can see in the background, they also had a floating platform that the babies could hang on to & climb on. Sadie looked so independent holding on to it in the corner by herself! I will admit that it did make me a little nervous doing all this stuff by herself - I usually don't mind when she is on dry land, but in water?!

Also, thanks go out to Bryan. He stopped by the class to watch Sadie in action & that's how we got some of our pictures. Looks like we will be signing up in the near future!
