As most of you know, my sister, Natalie, had unexpected problems with both of her pregnancies & delivered both of my nephews really early. She was diagnosed with Preeclampsia with her first & it came on really quickly. She delivered Kason at 29 weeks and he weighed 3 lbs. 4 oz. Today he is a strong 3 year old boy who developmentally & physically has caught up with every other toddler running around! Max was born at 27 weeks & weighed 1 lb. 13 oz. He turned one at the end of January. While he still has a long road of challenges ahead of him, we are proud to say that he is finally headed in the right direction. That boy is a fighter & not once has he given up!
In honor of these 3 & all other women who have gone through a similar situation, we are joining together to raise money for Preeclampsia. The Promise Walk for Preeclampsia is a 5K family event that is held all over the United States & we are participating at the DFW event. My sister started a team for her family & has set a personal goal to help raise funds. Here is her web page if you want to learn more about my sister's story, who is on our team, additional information about Preeclampsia or if you would like to come join the walk or make a donation:
