This past weekend I was fortunate to spend time with most of the ladies in my life. On Saturday morning, we had a baby shower with all of the women from both families. I hate that it takes a big event to get everyone together, but we had a great time eating, visiting & spending time together. Here a few pictures from the brunch:
The cake was absolutely adorable - it was actually made of cupcakes & I have never seen anything like it! They even sent me home with the baby on the lilly pad so Bryan could have some.
Here are the grandmothers - Mimi & Grammy
And here are the great-grandmothers. We are blessed to have all 4 of our grandmothers still a part of our lives.
Sorry, this picture is a little fuzzy but I had to show off the amazing picture frame that my sister made for me. Guess you can have a glimpse of what her nursery will look like :)
One of my favorite surprises were a few presents from Bryan. He has been shopping for a while now & found baby boutiques around town that I didn't even know about! Here is the gown that he bought for us to bring her home from the hospital in. I can tell already she will be a Daddy's Girl!
One of my other favorite presents was from my Mom. She took my baby jewelry that I had as a little girl & had it polished & cleaned up for our little girl to wear. I remember the jewelry but had now idea that she still had it or even thought about passing it on. What a special memory!
Finally, here are the ladies who hosted the shower & made the morning extra special. These are all of Bryan's aunts on his Dad's side of the family. We are lucky that they all live in the DFW area so our little girl will get to see them often.
On Sunday afternoon, our church threw us another baby shower & it was hosted by some of my dear friends in Frisco. Here are a few more pictures to enjoy:
This was one of the first things I saw when I walked in. My friend made it & it was a complete surprise! Another super cute item for her nursery!
The food not only looked good, but tasted great! We had another beautiful cake but I can't show the close up because it has her name written on it & I have to have some element of surprise for my blogger friends!
These women were the hostesses & they could not have done a better job showering Bryan, me & baby to be :)
This tutu dress was from my Mom & too cute not to share! It's actually a halter dress that ties around the neck, so I hope Bryan doesn't mind if she shows a little skin on her back!
This was also a really cute present from Bryan's Nanny - a matching burp cloth & bib. I guess you can have another clue - her name does start with a S :)
Bryan even got a special present this time - the ladies from our small group at church gave him something to help him out - Daddy's Diaper Service. It looks like a tool belt but inside it has everything he needs to help him take care of a baby, especially when changing her diaper. You know, the normal stuff like goggles, tongs, face mask, rubber gloves, etc. We had a hoot watching him open it up & try it on!
Thank you to all of our family & friends for helping us prepare for our little girl's arrival. Not only are we grateful for the presents (who knew there is so much to get when you have your first child!) but we are truly appreciative for your love & support as our family continues to grow.
You look too cute...love that belly bump! So sad I missed it, but look forward to seeing you soon! Love you guys...Nat
