Prayers for Bryan
Speaking of busy lives, our schedules unfortunately got a lot busier last week when we learned that Bryan was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. We have already gotten 2 opinions from different Oncologists and chose one, Dr. Rizvi, to proceed with. Bryan has a busy week ahead as we take the final steps in determining what stage he is so that we can prepare for treatment.
Tuesday, 4/19: Bryan will have a PET scan
Wednesday, 4/20: Bryan will have a Bone Marrow Biopsy and they will also install a Port for his Chemotherapy.
He will also be meeting with a Cardiologist sometime this week. After these appointments, we will return to the Oncologist for a follow up visit on Monday, 4/25. At that time, we hope to learn what stage the cancer is & what his treatment plan will be exactly. We have already been assured that he will have a combination of Chemotherapy & Radiation. From a minimum standpoint, he will have 4 cycles of Chemotherapy (all day for twice a month, totalling 4 months) followed by 4-6 weeks of Radiation every day.
It has been an emotional 2 weeks for us, but we are blessed to be surrounded by a great support system of family & friends. We appreciate all of your prayers during this difficult time and we look forward to updating you with positive news as Bryan begins his treatment.

ReplyDeleteHello, Shaye.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Tressa and I am a good friend of Bryan's mom, Sherry. Even though I haven't actuall met you yet, I love Sherry, which means I love her family too! So glad you are willing to share your blog so we can provide you support, encouragement, and most of all our prayers! It's difficult to know at the time why we must go through certain things, but our God is good and will see you through. God bless you both and love all your pictures!
I've been praying ever since Bryan's mom, Sherry, called me. I'm Patty (Wilson) Busby, Sherry's cousin and I've asked many of my friends to join me in praying for Bryan, Shaye, and the entire family. God is bigger than this. I trust and believe that with my whole heart.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you created this blog, so that we can follow along with you and Bryan on this journey. We are praying for you and Bryan. We love you both!!!
