See You Later Gator - 8th Grade Graduate

After 3 years, Sadie is finally leaving middle school & heading to high school and she has been celebrating all month! We kicked off May with a Hello High School party for their NCL class:

They have had the same leaders for the past 2 years & they did a great job throwing a party to celebrate their transition by surprising them with high school shirts:

It's been fun watching these girls grow up & now we have 4 more years with them until they all graduate high school. I can't even think about that yet!

The last week of school kicked off with athletic awards:

Those are all of the trophies our team won this year. Sadie won 2 awards. The first was the High Five, which is the hardest to get & only a few girls in her grade got it. It meant she made all 5 sports teams throughout the year: volleyball, cross country, basketball, track & soccer:

She also won the soccer MVP award, which didn't surprise me one bit. Those were the same 2 awards she won last year also:

On Thursday, the 8th grade class went to Main Event for their year-end party. I chaperoned, which let's be honest, is kind of not necessary at this point but it at least allowed me to be able to sneak a few pictures:

Their last day of school was on Friday:

She was determined to go most of the day but then I picked her up early. Her & Kenzie snuck out together, so this was literally their last walk out of Griffin:

She had a few friends over that night for a sleepover:

and then they headed to the 8th grade grad party:

A few of the boy moms planned a party with a dj, food, dancing, raffles & it was so cute! Summery & Aloha themed:

Thankfully one of my friends was the photographer & she did a great job capturing all of the fun that night:

It was an awesome week watching these kids celebrate the end of an era. Aloha Wakeland!

Life Lately - End of School Edition

Ok guys today is the last day of school. What? How?! This year has flown by, but we are SO ready for summer! This month has been busy wrapping up all of the fun before summer starts. Sophie has already started ramping up for cheerleading next year. They had their first practice, multiple fittings & we ordered a lot of gear:

Guess it's official when you have the sign in your yard for everyone to see!

She was super excited to come home with her uniform, but of course it was big on her, so we had to have it altered:

They had a swim party to officially kick off the year:

Unofficially, they all went to the high school spring fling football game & had fun meeting up with the cheer squad & other friends:

And she got to have a popsicle party at school this past week:

Sadie has been consumed with soccer, but it is finally slowing down. They had their last game earlier this month and she celebrated with a few of her teammates afterward:

She loves her small group at church & they all dressed up last weekend:

Because a lot of time she is there in her uniform, but it's more fun when your best friend is there in her uniform also:

We've gone to a few graduation parties & I cannot believe most of these girls we have known since they were babies! Our children have literally grown up together & they have babysat for us through the years:

Bryan surprised the girls and took them to breakfast one morning this past week before school:

And both of their KLife small groups met for the last time this past week also. We had both groups over for pool parties:

We had planned a pool party for Sadie's group also, but the weather didn't want to cooperate so they made summer bucket lists instead:

It might have been cold & rainy, but there was not any lightening or thunder, so they may have jumped in the pool in their clothes & swam anyways. Ha!

There's so much going on but I'll post more next week after we enjoy the long weekend & our official start to summer!

National Charity League - Legacy Sister

Sadie & I have been in National Charity League since she graduated 6th grade & guess who gets to join us?!

Our chapter only invites 30 new members every year, starting in 7th grade, so we were extra excited this year that not only does she get to join us, but also, she is a legacy, so she automatically got an invite! She found out in April but this month all of the fun started, beginning with a home delivery - an older ticktocker surprised her with a t-shirt & a yellow rose:

She also got an invitation to their first meeting for the class of 2032, which was this past weekend:

We got there early to help set up & Sadie got to come & help out too:

Our church graciously opened up their building for us to host & I thought it turned out so cute:

Sadie earned hours by helping out during the meeting:

We had a meeting, played some games & got to know all of the new members. Sophie even got recognized for being a legacy along with one of her friends:

We have a pretty good group from schools all of over Frisco but thankfully there are a a few sweet friends from Griffin also:

I mean look at these groups - patronesses (moms) and ticktockers (daughters). I think it's going to be a great year & I cannot wait to serve with both of the girls:
